Free To A Good Home

Post by Paper_Nanny » Tue Oct 18, 2011 4:40 pm

I have several masks that I tried while looking for the one that would work for me. They are just taking up space and I thought I'd see if anyone else could use them. Please send me a PM if you want any of the following.

Comfort Full 2- Small
Comfort Full 2- Medium
ComfortGel Full- Large
RespCare Hybrid- Small, Medium, and Large mouth and nose pieces & DVD on how to use it.

All the masks have had minimal usage in a smoke free environment.

I also have a tank for a Respironics humidifier that I no longer need. It looks like the one in this picture.

Good day.

I just joined as today I received my first CPAP after being diagnosed. Looking back on life, I wonder why nobody thought for me to get tested 20+ years ago! Anyways, I'm already on my third mask (unknown at first study, EasyLife at titration study, Mirage FX for tonight). Just in trying out to find the right one, I would be interested in if you are willing to send me your ComfortGel Large. I'd ask for the Comfort 2, but I don't think a medium would work for me. I am having a hard time making the fit. If it's still available and nobody else more worthy needs it, please PM me. It would definitely be in a good home!

Thanks!
Brandon

The Comfort Full 2- Medium and the ComfortGel Full- Large have been spoken for.

The Comfort Full 2- Small, the RespCare Hybrid, and the humidifier tank are still available.

I'd love to try the Hybrid, if it hasn't been spoken for yet. Let me know, Kevin

Hi Brandon and welcome to the forum. The ComfortGel Large has been spoken for.

Are you going through a DME supplier for your masks? Do you know that the mask manufacturers have a return policy so that you can try the masks for 30 days and return them, at no cost to you? And more importantly, does your DME provider know that??

Finding the right mask can take awhile. I went tried quite a few that didn't work for me before finding the FitLife Total Face Mask. Getting a mask that is comfortable and that works for you is one of the biggest issues in CPAP usage. So, keep trying different ones until you find the one for you.

Thanks Deborah. No worries, I'm sure the recipient will enjoy it too! Yeah, aware of it but worried about what's left. After the first two and the 4 I tried on at the DME's office today, she said she doesn't have immediate access to any others, just the different size combinations. I'm using the Mirage FX and during the fitting today, I could feel slight pressure at the base of my nose where it curves around. Otherwise, it was very comfortable. DME said we'll watch to make sure it isn't squeezing my nose shut and preventing full flow.

Either way, I'm not overly concerned at this time. Tonight will be my first night using it, so I'll leave it a week or two to make sure sure all is well. Have follow-ups with my DME Thursday, next Monday, and then the following Monday. At least I seem to have a very welcoming DME. I went in reading on know what I should get and the first unit she pulled out was an S9 Autoset with the ClimateLine and everything. She said my script called for a straight CPAP, but they always recommend full data and having the option for auto. I asked if it was new and she said they don't do used and then pulled up the hours on the unit. I was very impressed. They even gave me a breakdown for supplies and how often I can get which ones. Hoping they remain as cooperative as I try to find the right mask!
