Very interesting, I've just started wearing compression stockings while waiting for a laser ablation of my saphenous veins in Sept. I know there has been some discussion here of sclerotherapy for varicose veins. Anyone else have this problem? I'll have to keep my Encore reports and see if my pressure needs change.http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/232313.php
FWIW, another news article referee to flight stockings, compression stockings have graduated pressure, more at the ankle, and are not the same as antiembolisim or TED stockings which apply even pressure overall. Kathy

Re: OSA and venous insufficiency
I have chronic venous insufficiency and my primary care doc has suggested that I wear compression stockings to help. This after several visits to a cardiologist and follow-up tests with doppler ultrasounds of my legs that found no clots, just venous reflux with some varicosity.
Admittedly, I haven't been exactly compliant with this suggestion. The stockings tend to migrate/roll down my lef and end up cutting circulation off in my foot if I don't adjust them several times a day. Perhaps they just don't fit properly.
I am starting my cpap therapy this week and am curious to see how combining the two therapies will work.

Re: OSA and venous insufficiency
Unlike my CPAP, I'm not 100% compliant with the stockings either, it's just to hot some days, but I do make a point of wearing them to work as I stand all day. They really do help with the fat feet and achy legs, the article mentions neck circumference, haven't measured that, but just may for the heck of it BTW, there a product called IT Stays, a roll on skin adhesive, will keep the socks up, find it in the women's underwear section at Walmart or online.
