Hi,
Does anyone else have this problem? My Auto machine pressure is set between 8-17. never fails if I end up on my back I have apneas that wake me up. Does anyone else have a problem when sleeping on there back?? If so, did you have to stop sleeping on your back or is there another solution??
Thanks

Re: apneas when lying on back
Thanks for posting this question, Godspeed. I have exactly the same one: I've been waking up when I roll over onto my back and the mask is huffing at maximum (which, in my case, is 9). The mask also leaks when I'm on my back. Any advice on what to do about it? I think it's important to be able to roll over in one's sleep.
Epworth Sleepiness Scale: 14
Diagnostic study: overall AHI: 0.2 events/hour; overall RDI: 45 events/hour
Titration study: AHI: 6.1; RDI: 27; CPAP pressures: 5-8cm
Not-tired behind my eyes and with a clear, cool head!

Staying off the back is one approach, as you say.
Or if the machine you are using doesn't react quickly enough to how your airway behaves in supine sleep and does not prevent apneas in that position, you may need to raise your minimum to be able to sleep in that position.

Re: Does anyone else have this problem?
my sister had a problem when she rolled over to her back to sleep. the Doctor suggested taping a tennis ball to her back to help from sleeping on her back.
