Thanks, jedimark. I was just trying to get some of my paranoid negativity out of this thread announcing the availability of the product. It was done out of respect for your work, not in an attempt to leave any of your posts hanging.

I'll try to be cooler in the future. But its hard when you're a middle-aged, goofy, tin-foil-hat-wearing square like me.

I just uploaded a couple of sets of my data files and both did not plot. A pop up window informed me that "An error has occured while reading datafile.parsererror". Some of the data on the right side of the screen populated including Amin, Amax and Events.

Let me know if you need more details.

Thanks,
Dennis

hi DennisG,

I've not received the error message, but the "not plotting" part is something I've experienced. What I figured out from trial and error is that if I first TRY to look at a dataset and it doesn't plot, then I hit the button to go back to the list/load page, either load another dataset or try viewing another set, and somehow that one does plot, and I can then look at any datasets for the rest of my online session. I'm using firefox on Mac.

Wouldn't dream of shooting you down for the question, Starlette. It's an excellent question.

Feature differences (I'm not positive, because I've never used Encore Viewer or Pro, only seen reports that people ahve sent me):
  • Onkor allows a view of the breathing waveform (the squiggly lines in the screenshot) where I think Encore Viewer does not.
  • Encore is designed for windows, Onkor should work with most platforms (e.g. Mac and Linux).
  • No software to install: Onkor runs in your web browser
Other differences:
  • Onkor is free!
  • Onkor is open-source, which means other interested people can use my software most any way they like, including making their own products based on it
  • I'm participating in discussions on cpaptalk.com and elsewhere, listening to the feedback and incorporating others' ideas into the software as I go
If you are already running Encore Pro there's probably currently no compelling software features that you're missing in Onkor. However, I hope in the coming weeks as Onkor improves, Onkor will have more features than even Encore Pro.

Encore homonym? Oh, I think you're pronouncing it differently than I do. I pronounce it "Own core".

Dennis, yeah, looks like there was some problem understanding your data files? Can you PM or email me the serial number (or another PXXXX id) that you were using to upload? I'll take a look

thank you for your work on this-- I always liked the old viewer better than the "company" software

I feel a bit silly asking because others are making it work- but detail on how
to get data into viewer-- my card downloads but I am missing how to get data into onkor

thanks packer

Just so you don't feel alone.... I am having problems also. It wouldn't upload all files, then it did a partial upload, never could get the 005 files to queue. Got a partial report and then got error and then tried again and couldn't get anything.

Near as I can figure out is we have to "select" then go to the SD card and navigate through the folders till we get to the files and highlight all of them, then double click to "open" in the navigation box and that triggers the files into queue and then I could see the partial report that I got. I may have missed a step and that is why I can't get the 005 files in the queue. But even when I sorted files by extension 001 002 005 I never could get the 005s to upload.

Not sure where "add" comes in to play in the choices at onkor. A step by step instruction on how to get to files and obtain the queue might help those of us technically challenged in this area or are simply doing it wrong.

No time to play with it now but I will later on today to see if I can figure out what I am missing. I only have one weeks worth of files since this is a new machine for me.

FYI for those using Onkor. My info would not plot when I was using Internet Explorer 9 as my browser, but it works fine using Google Chrome as a browser.

Very cool, one feature I think is much better than Encore Pro is the ability to zoom in on events and see the wave forms in much greater detail. You can also select the starting and ending points of an event in the zoom window and it will tell you the length of time in the panel to the right. This means you can measure more accurately the duration of events.

Great work so far guys, look forward to more fun stuff.

Dennis

Do I dare say it??? I will. I am not a computer geek Hubbs is, I am not.
I put in a log on name. That is as far as I got.
Think we (not computer program savy folks) need some step by step directions.

Still no luck.
FireFox and IE 8.
I can get 001 and 002 files to queue but not 005 and no report at all.

Bummer.

Is it just me, or does someone providing a product for free named Onkor to folks that otherwise might pay good money to a company that makes a marketed product called Encore look an awful lot like a copyright/trademark infringement lawsuit just waiting to happen?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I think cpapdork should change his forum name to "Uncle Onkor." That way the product is named after him.

Well I am not sure that I really understand all the details of how Onkor works, but here are the steps I used and my thoughts on how this thing works.

Go to http://www.onkor.net You will see a box in the center of the page, you can put in your machine ID as per the instructions or you can make up your own ID number as long as it starts with P such as PRETTYSLEEPY or P987654321. This will be the ID number you will use to get back to your files later, so write it down. After entering your ID number, hit the "Proceed" button. When you come back later, you may be able to double click in the empty box and you prior entry will be available to select below the box.

You should now be in the File Upload Page with several boxes labeled "Fileset", "001", "002", "005" and a button labeled "Add Files". Click on the "Add Files" button. A new window should open that says "Open" in the upper left corner.

On the left side of this window is a list of file locations. If you know where your files are located, go there. If your files are on your SD card, insert the card into your reader. Then scroll down in the box on the left side of the window until you see "My Computer" or "Computer". If "SD Card" shows up below "Computer", double click on "SD card", if it is not there double click on "Computer" and it should appear.

After double clicking on "SD card", you should see a folder labeled "P-Series" in the larger box on the right. Double click on the "P-Series" folder. You should see a folder labeled something like "P0234567890A", the numbers will be different for your machine. Double click on this folder and you will see a folder labeled "p0". Double click on the "p0" folder and you are finally at your data files.

You should now see a list of files with a lot of numbers such as:

0000000116.002
0000000116.001
0000000116.005
0000000115.002
0000000115.001

Each day has three files that make a set of data to transfer, one ending in .001, one ending in .002 and one ending in .005. The first 10 numbers must be the same, such as 0000000116 in the above example. This first set of 10 numbers will be different for each day.

Hold the "Ctrl" key down and click on each of the three files for the day you wish to upload, such as the first three files in the sample above.

These files should now be listed in the "File name:" box at the bottom of the "Open" window. Click on the "Open" button in the lower right corner.

The "Open " window will close, and the Onkor page should have a number in the "Fileset" box and the "001", "002", and "005" boxes will show the files loading and stop with a "Complete: ok" message.

You can now go to look at your uploaded file by clicking on the blue letters "browse your upload reports". You will now see a list of the files you have uploaded. Click on the number of the report you wish to see. The viewer window should open.

There are 4 boxes on this page with your data, top is the airflow wave form graph, second is the event log, third is the pressure graph and the bottom is the leak graph. You can zoom in on the wave form graph by clicking in the event box or airflow box at the start of your zoom time and holding the mouse button while you drag to the end of your zoom time.

I am now at the limit of my knowledge of how to use this tool.

Good Luck
Dennis
