What size Swift LT pillows?

Post by Jade » Sat Apr 02, 2011 8:20 pm

Since I've apparently failed xpap completely, someone I know wants to try using my machine to see if it makes a positive difference for them.

The nasal pillow I used is clearly too small for said person, but I'm not even sure what size I have--is there some marking I'm missing that indicates this?

Also, how can I make a reasonable guess about what size will work best for the person?

This person has had a sleep study which resulted in a recommended pressure. They don't currently have a sleep dr and want to avoid racking up charges for the equipment, and I'm happy to help out. But we'd like to avoid buying a bunch of extra sizes that will end up being unneeded.

The size is in a small circle on the back side of the nasal pillow near the large opening edge on the right side if you are holding it facing the large opening. Very small circle and letters. XS, S, M, L
Once you determine what size you use that is too small, if slightly too small, move up a size. If way too small, maybe 2 sizes. Still probably need a couple of sizes to try.

My swift LT came with all three sizes that could be tried. You should check your packaging.

I was only given one pillow. In better light and with my reading glasses I see it is a S(mall). I'm not sure how much too small it is, so I guess we will need to get a medium and a large.

If anyone has an unused Swift LT pillow in M or L that they'd donate or sell for less than online cost--please PM me.

You might check out Ebay for replacement pillows. They seem to sell for about half of online prices.

Thanks, for the tip.

Any idea how they can sell them for so much less? I confess, my imagination is not coming up with many legit scenarios... Are they original resmed products, do you think, or some kind of knock-offs?

If anyone reading this has used an ebay vendor, how was the quality?

You got one nasal pillow with your mask gear set up? The small?

Well.... the whole package comes with 3 pillows. Guess where the other 2 pillows went? While not all DMEs will do that, some do.

Several members have bought from Ebay and they say the pillows seem like the real deal. Even the ones in the whole package we get at DME are made in China anyway. Some are bought in bulk and repackaged. Some are just DMEs making an extra buck off resale of the extra pillows that come in the package and they just give you one.
We used to get good deals for these pillows at the cpapauction. With Resmed ban now, we have to look elsewhere.

I just recently bought some Swift FX pillows on eBay - they were brand new and cost less than half the price of new ones.

These are definitely the 'real thing'. Just make sure there's a pic of the product and check the seller's rating.

Also, regardless of whether they are 'new and in original packaging' I would advise thorough sanitising and cleaning before use.

Cheers,
xena
