Pressure adjustment when SD card is present

I posted a similar question back in August of 2010 and never got a satisfactory answer. I have no problem adjusting the pressure on my System One machine with the SD card removed. However, the settings revert back to the SD card numbers once the card is reinserted. Trying to adjust the pressure with the SD card loaded brings an error message.

How do you work around that problem?

Was the machine's settings ever adjusted by a doctor's office or a DME using the SD card? If so, then there may be some kind of a configuration file on the card that is overriding the machine's settings when it's inserted AND that config file might be READ ONLY so the machine can't overwrite it when you try to change the settings with the card in the machine; hence the error message.

Easiest work around I can think of is to simply stick a new SD card into the machine and let the machine format it if need be.

A more detailed potential work around is to look at the FILES on the SD card using your PC. See if any of them are READ ONLY files and see if the READ ONLY files appear to have configuration information in them.

You provider apparently entered your prescription via the card. Any time you stick it in it will revert to the saved settings.

If you have the software, change the 'script on the card. Failing that, try a blank SD card. If you format your current card, you will lose the data already on it. (Could be important if your Ins requires compliance reporting!)

Thank you robysue and LinkC for replying. Much appreciated. Following your recommendations I copied the contents of my SD card to my hard drive as shown below so as not accidentally damage any data:



The current data is located in the P01123938EECC/p1 directory (the p0 directory contains earlier 2010 data). The logical place to find a control file would be in the "e" directory where I find 2 files: 000.004 and 001.004. Neither one is Read-Only, which suggests that some logic somewhere is causing its data to supersede my local settings. So it looks like the safest bet will be to get my provider to unlock the setting (I am using the User-based EncoreViewer2 and don't have access to the professional version).
