Machine data did not change last night, why?
Machine data did not change last night, why?
I am one week today with my machine. I have checked the data since I think Friday night. Today it should have said 7 days, but its still registering 6. It also did not change the percentage, the AHI, or the Leaks. The only thing I see different is the total hours used and the check Sum number changed. Nothing else is different. Should I be concerned?

I have no idea!
Just thought I'd say if you don't get much response here, you could try another post (or change this one) to include your machine name in the title. That way, you will get people who are familiar with your machine to look at it, in case it is a machine-specific kind of thing.

I'd suggest contacting your DME provider. That error/problem is not listed in the troubleshooting section of the user manual: http://www.fpicon.com/data2/F&P%20ICON% ... 6221_c.pdf
I'd check to make sure the the smartstick is in all the way. Unplugging the machine and then plugging it back in might fix the issue for future nights, but I doubt it will retrieve the data from last night. But, before doing anything, I'd call the DME.
By the way, I don't have any CPAP machine, yet. The only reason I know what I do know about the ICON series is because I've looked into it.

Thank you, and I did look at the users manual and online to see what they say on their site, but I find no information. I will call the DME tomorrow if nothing changes tonight. I cleaned the machine yesterday like they told me to. I only washed the mask, hose and humidifier. I followed the instructions carefully. Strange.
You don't have a machine yet? I am sorry!

Re: Machine data did not change last night, why?
Ok so apparently the machine updates later in the am. I just checked it and all the stats are updated.
I am very confused though. My total sleep last night was 4.2 and the AHI was 23.0 and my leak was 32. I am at 71% compliant though. So, with a low leak rate, I cant understand why my AHI was so high when the night before it was 5.2 with the same leak rate.
I thought that the cpap reduces the number of AHI's?
Feeling setback on the numbers when in reality I am finding wearing and sleeping with the mask easier.

Nah, don't feel discouraged with one night's odd high AHI.Kahfree wrote:Feeling setback on the numbers when in reality I am finding wearing and sleeping with the mask easier.
If I felt about the same as I'd been feeling with the nice low AHI's I'd been getting, I'd just shrug off that zoomed one with a "Wow, that's strange" and not give it a second thought -- unless the next night or some other night within the week also produced an unusually high AHI. THEN I'd go to work on figuring it out.
That's great that you're getting along better with wearing/sleeping with the mask. There will still be occasional nights when you might feel, "Ugh, this mask!" and nights when you might remove it in your sleep... but gradually it all will keep getting better. I think you'll be happily surprised a few more months from now when you look back on what you've accomplished. You're doing very, very well.

Kahfree,
How do you know the data from the stick if you dont' have the software? Is the data just in .txt or something similar?
Amy.

Amy, the Premo Icon by F&P allows me to read it off the screen of the machine. Its not in a graph form which I would like because it would show it as a progression. For now, I have to write each day on a paper and just compare.
