I think you're onto something here. It's exactly what happened with me when I was in Secret Agent Girl's situation. I did the same thing -- out of fear. In hindsight, I regret deleting my posts, but we all do things we wish we could take back. Hell, there's a lot of things I've done here I wish I could take back.

For what it's worth, I am still grateful for the time and help that was given to me early on, even if my subsequent actions said to the contrary.

We will know within the week whether jnk's theory is correct or not.

Maybe.

Another possibility is that she, or her husband, feared that there was something posted that could make her identifiable as she went forward in her treatment with her medical team, based on the help she got here.

I think that both NotMuffy and the ones he helps take some personal risk in having these discussions where we all can listen in and learn from them. I am glad they are willing to do it, for my benefit and others. But it can be spooky sometimes for the ones who are helped to see so much of their medical condition and personal thought-processes recorded online, especially when they think about how to move forward with the information they get.

Then again, part of secret-agent training is learning to cover your tracks on the way out . . .

I certainly wish her the best and thank NotMuffy for all he does here.
Ah, Jeff! You are wise beyond your years!

Yep. I was sorry to see the deletion dots.

Bev, your thread of long ago did (and thankfully still does) provide a great learning experience.

You've shown that by helping and encouraging others many, many times since then. I've watched you do it! And you showed your gratitude back then by not ever having dot-deleted your posts during the saga of your struggle. Thank you for hanging in there even when it was tough. The help you received in context with what you were describing remains intact to help new people who might come across it. That's a very good thing.

Either that, or images of Hannah Montana.

As soon as I can figure out how to fit that in the Post Title.

I hope you're kidding.

I would send you a PM offering to pre-screen potential help-recipients for you (not to imply that your batting average ain't great), but you've disabled PMs.

Bev, it can't be worse than the stuff I posted while on Ambien. Or post-op pain killers. I am definitely not going back to read those posts.

He is very insightful and understands people's motivations. In this case, however, I maintain that his theory is wrong.

Muffy, YOUR greatest strength is your willingness to spend extensive time helping people. You can't control how people are going to respond, so please don't let their responses affect your willingness to help someone else.
