I recently bought a Hybrid mask and it has just arrived Down Under (I am using a Quattro FFM.) I would really like to use this mask as it is so much smaller and less intrusive. I have tried it for one night and after 2 hours the pillow wouldn't stay in place. While waiting for it to arrive (it took a while as it got caught up in international Christmas mail) I read what I could find about getting it to work. I used the lanolin cream that had been mentioned but I still couldn't get the pillows to stay in place. I have fairly small, slotted nares and a fairly high pressure (approx 15).
Any suggestions would be very helpful please.

Here's a couple of places to start:

As you can see, there is MUCH discussion of the Hybrid. I use Lansinoh and a variation of the tight's fix. and get virtually NO leakage unless I roll over and pull the hose tight.

Hi Snoozysue.....check out page two of this conversation (there are pictures on the second page):

It's the "rubber band" trick. I use this idea, but instead of a rubber band I use some narrow elastic because (a) I have a lot of it, and (b) I could really adjust it just right and very precisely.
I also cut the chin flap off.
With these modifications, my mask is very secure and I can roll around without worry. My leak line is completely flat.

Thank you all for responding to my request for help. I will get some elastic and some tights and have a try!

Re: Hybrid nasal pillows
Hi SnoozySue,
I found a package of very tiny elastics at the dollar store here. There must be over a hundred or so in the package. Best of all, they are not made of rubber but of a type of stretchy plastic. I think they are intended for use for Jamaican braids. They are the size that kids use for their braces. Anyway, I loop 2 together and then affix each loop over a nasal pillow. This tends to pull the nasal pillows closer together and helps keep them in place for me. As well, I find that the cushion seems to accumulate facial oils after a few days, which even daily washing does not seem to get rid of. So about once a week, I soak the cushion and the nasal pillows in a very mild mixture of vinegar and water. This seems to remove any extra residue that soap and water can't remove.
