Are Leaks Really a Problem?

Post by cortez356 » Mon Dec 20, 2010 7:41 pm

I am referring to small leaks. Other than the fact that some leaks are uncomfortable ( blowing at your eyes or cheeks or whistling) do they affect your therapy? Normally I get all paranoid when I hear even a tiny leaks. Last night I just left them alone. I did correct a couple of large leaks. Still had a good AHI. I have heard users state heat there Dr. and Techs both said that small leaks are no big deal.

I agree, my dr. and the sleep center told me,' you will have some leaks, don't worry about them'.

For small leaks? If they bother me, I work on fixing 'em. If they don't, then I don't worry about 'em.

Any leak can make your therapy less effective. But, realistically, most of us aren't going to have zero leaks because we move around, talk in our sleep, whatever--small leaks are pretty much gonna happen. If your numbers are good and you feel good, why sweat the little stuff?

If you want to get rid of them try using a Quietus CPAP Mask liner and kiss the leaks good bye!
