I started using my CPAP machine yesterday. When got home I took a three-hour nap with it. Last night was my first full night with a CPAP machine and when I woke up this morning I didn’t notice much difference.
When I had my sleep study done, they said I stopped breathing 57 times an hour.
This evening I do feel a little more energetic than I normally do, so I hope that it’s working.
Have a Resmed S9 Elite. I noticed everyone is talking about software. I found ReScan and downloaded it from Resmed’s website.
I have a SD card in the back of my machine. I noticed while installing the software it asked me if I had a reader, USB, and another option. I don’t see any USB ports on the back of my machine, but I do see a female port of some sort in the back.
I’m curious if I can put the SD card in any SD reader on my computer and have the ResScan read it, or do I need to a get a special SD card reader?

It should work from any card reader. I plug mine into the reader built in to my laptop and have had no problems. You should work your body into an equilibrium with the treatment. I could tak any where from a few days to a longer period of time. The kye is consistent use of your CPAP. Welcome aboard.

Very few people feel instantly better on CPAP--the damage built up over years, so you have to give it a few weeks (at least) to get better. Some people take MUCH longer.
You did awesome for your first day and night with CPAP. Wear it every time you sleep and if your apnea was moderate or severe, you might start feeling a difference. People with only mild apnea don't notice as much change.
Any standard SD card will work and you can put the SD card from your machine in any standard card reader attached to your computer to access the data via Rescan. It will help you see if your therapy is effective, especially if you are using it faithfully and not noticing much difference.

Re: New User
Welcome! I just use the reader on my computer tower. You are in the right place. I have been using CPAP for 6 months now and have found lots of useful information here.

One thing when first starting out is to try and be consistent, that includes when you go to bed and also when getting up (I know the getting up is harder).
My respirologist had me re-train my body on how to sleep which meant going to bed at the same time every night for 30 days which included weekends (days off), to my amazement it was easier to do than I thought. He told me that when I went to bed during that 30 day time that there was to be no TV or reading or anything, I picked 10pm to go to sleep and that meant lights out and going to sleep at 10pm.
It worked! although around the 3-4 week mark I did feel worse as my body adjusted to the new me.
Good luck
