Tuesday is the day!

Post by adksleepygal » Fri Nov 12, 2010 9:11 am

Just got a call from the DME - my new machine (Resmed S9 Autoset) is here and I have an appointment for Tues to go in and get set up with it. I am feeling pretty relieved about this and the quieter machine coming. Hopefully we can get it set to be comfortable for breathing as I never could get the hang of the breathing with the other one and it seemed like a huge fight to relax as it was fighting me all night and also noisy.
Does anyone have any suggestions I need to know in advance of meeting with the new RT and starting with this S9? Anything specific I should ask about so I get off on the best foot with this?
(By the way - I finally got the credit that was double billed to my credit card from the first DME.....only to see they recharged me again 2 days later for the same amount and then credited me again! Unbelieveable - what I think happened is they tried to recharge the account for the credit they had given me and then found out the account was frozen so had to back it out - really poor! Glad they are history and I have moved on!! The new DME has done much better with my two insurances as well and have me renting now for only 3 months plus have gotten it all covered by 90%. Its a whole new ballgame and I would not be here without you all encouraging me, so thanks. I will let you all know how things go after Tues...have a GREAT weekend everyone!

Congratulations on getting this all worked out! What an ordeal this has been for you.

I don't have any suggestions about your meeting Tuesday, but I'm guessing someone else will chime in. I'll hold good thoughts for you though.

I'll be anxious to see an update after you've used the new machine a few nights. Good luck!

sadly CPAP suppliers are seldom well organised or know much about CPAP use

modern CPAPs are generally quiet, if on a bare floor, a thick piece of rubber will quieten it, a longer airhose can allow it to be moved further away, dont cover CPAP as the air intake mustnt ne blocked

PS when all else fails, read the instruction book
australian, anxiety and insomnia, a CPAP user since 1995, self diagnosed after years of fatigue, 2 cheap CPAPs and respironics comfortgell nose only mask. not one of my many doctors ever asked me if I snored
