Dizziness???

Post by Eeyore_1 » Sat Oct 30, 2010 10:30 am

I've been using the CPAP for about 3 months now and it's working great but in the last few days I've been waking up and feeling very dizzy and off balance. Is dizziness normal with CPAP? How do I fiz it?

It's not 'normal', but can happen if your sinuses and/or ear canals become affected. But then again, you could have acquired some other problem entirely, like labyrinthitis, which does affect the ear canals and make you dizzy, but is not directly related to Cpap. You need to ask a doctor though what's going on to be sure. Have you had your BP checked in a while?

For me when I have had those issues it was an ear infection. When in doubt I would visit your health care provider to get checked out.

Julie and pdean, thanks for the replies. No, I haven't had my BP checked but I am due for a physical right away. I was sick with a stomach virus for about a week and this has just started since then. I hope it's not another darn virus going around! Since my GS started daycare it seems to be one thing after another!

You need to distinguish between LIGHTHEADEDNESS and true VERTIGO. Does the room actually "spin", or do you feel as if you might "pass out" (syncope), or neither or both ?
