CPAP has a shut off feature if your mask is not on!

Hello

If you take your mask off it would help to shut it off.....But there are some CPAP machines that has a automatic feature. when it detects that your mask is off or not been worn it will automatily shut it's self off.

I have the S6Elite Sullivan and it has this speical feature, If the mask is not been worn it shuts it's self off after I I take the mask off the tube ie:toilet break at night. But when I replace the the mask on the tube and take a breath the machine it switch it's self back on again and I fall asleep again.

But I think it may be mulfunctioning on me or I am forgetting to take a breath for exceedinly long time and I find the CPAP shuts it's self off! It often wakes me up most of the time ,as the machine sometimes thinks I have taken off my mask! Gee wihizz, Nothing like instant suffocating to wake you up!!!

But it is rare it does that.....As it wakes me up, the time I spend without pressureized air is short as when it switches off I know about it wake up and swtich it back on again!!!

I've heard about that feature... sounds very useful. I hope it doesn't malfunction for you too often. Maybe on the new S8 it will work better. I'm anxious to see what the new Resmed S8 units look like.
