Well, that's a surprise...

Post by Bons » Thu Oct 14, 2010 3:34 pm

Got a call from the DME to come pick up my new machine. I'm now on ASV. Would have been nice if the doctor had mentioned that to me yesterday... I thought I'd overheard the tech say something about a BiPap ST and thought maybe I was getting something new, but no way did anyone mention ASV or make any attempt to explain to me who the machine operates or what it does for me - I guess their way of handling "controlling individuals" like myself is to try to take away all control. I have no idea what it's set on except the inhalation is set at a max of 15 (which is weird since that was my 90% rate on BiPap so I'd have gone a tad higher on the max...). I may have to call and ask politely what the respiration rate is set at, since that was my issue with it during the titration study three weeks ago which resulted in being bumped to bipap. Or maybe I'll just pop one of my husband's Ambiens tonight and then I won't give a darn!

OMG,

that is horrible treatment!

can you get the data of your new machine? do you have the clincians manual for the new one?

I felt lost when I borrowed a vpap for ten days, couldnt get anything out of it, and just wondered what the heck was going on.

well, I hope this new machine, after YOU figure it out, works really well for you..

I pulled the card and it IS a pro card, so I will order the software. Didn't do that until I knew it would work. I'm changing machines more often then my dad every changed his undies, so I was hesitant to buy it. I'll give 'em a real thrill if I change the settings on the machine
