I got complimented on my toes (NOT off topic)

Post by JayC » Tue Oct 05, 2010 2:24 pm

Recently, I was walking around at a neighborhood block party. My feet were in sandals. My friend looked down and remarked how healthy my nailbeds were! She remarked that her sister with thyroid had yellowish/ashen nailbeds.......and mine were pink and healthy.

I honestly was more aware how long my toenails are and how I cant seem to keep them trimmed....

She was right about the color and character being healthy.....and I suppose fast growing hard but smooth nails are also a healthy sign.

Any one else have subtle and easily overlooked signs of health after some time on XPAP...?

My skin is not as dry - this is especially noticeable on my heels which are suddenly(?) not cracked anymore.

If I don't play my guitars consistantly,
I will loose the calus on my finger tips
in just a few days.
It takes longer to build it backup, too.

It's a constant reminder that my therapy is working.

I was developing periodontal disease until I started getting sleep and O2 overnight from PAP therapy. My hygienist and dentist were both absolutely amazed at the sudden turnaround.

Oh, and nice toes, JayC!

My alergies seem to have diminished.

It all goes together.
I recently found out I need to take insulin shots to control my diabetes.
My fault.
I'm getting to be a high maintenance gal. But I'm feeling so much better.

Am I the only one who checked out my toes after reading this?

Better "hormonal balance" in general - My skin seems a bit oilier / moister - I see the same improvement in my toenails.

MUCH more energy - for the first time in my life (really!) I feel the need to "burn it off" / exercise.

I suspect increased testosterone levels, too.

Awesome, and I know what you mean about overlooked signs.

As a guy, I have no idea what nailbeds are. But you're welcome to post pics ...

I get sores on the bridge of my nose and I love the fact that I'm awake enough to feel it. It is like a sore of restfulness.

Craving for exercise, have been hitting the gym 4 to 5 times a week after few weeks on CPAP. and no longer fall asleep while driving.
My girlfriend is happy because she knows she will not lose me to auto accident.
