I am sure that the information I ask searching for can be found somewhere in this forum, but I can't seem to find it, so I am asking for some help. I have been using my S8 Autoset Vantage for a week (and I love it by the way) and checking the numbers every day. Only problem is, what do they all mean and what is normal. The S8 reports: leaks, AI, HI, and AHI. Can someone provide a quick course on these inidices please? Thanks for your help!
What does it all mean?

AHI is the apnea/hypopnea index, a combination of both the apnea index (how many apneas you have an hour) and the hypopnea index (how many hypops you have an hour). The leak just shows how well you mask fits. And the pressure is showing you how high it got during the night.
So for example, if pressure is 10 - that's the max it reached that night.
If leak is in the 0.25 or less range, you have a good fitting mask.
If the AHI is 3.4, check the AI and HI. if the Hi is say 2 - then you have a couple of restrictions in your breathing each hour during the night (less than someone who doesn't have OSA) and then the Ai would be 1.4, meaning you have 1.4 apneas an hour, again nothing to worry about at all.
This information is just to tell you how effective your treatment is being. You only need think about it is the leak is high, or the AHI is into double figures or you think the treatment isn't working.
From my experience with an APAP like the autoset spirit, the pressure will move around night to night. For example, some nights I get as low as 8.6 and others as high as 11. But my AHI and leak tend to stay about the same which means that the machine is doing its job!!
Hope this helps
