Hi All,
I was one of the early adopters to the S9 back in February this year as some of you may remember. I've noticed this past week that the mask end of the hose (the rubber end point that you put the mask hose into) appears to have stretched. It's a rubber end point (with the orange sensor in it).
By stretched, what I mean is that the connection now between my mask hose and the main ClimateLine hose is now a lot loser and if I were to pull the hose from the mask it will uncouple itself from the mask.
I usually where my Swift FX mask but the other night I had to change back to my Activa due to congestion, and that's when I noticed it. It was more loose a connection when using the Active mask vs the Swift FX, e.g. more easy movement to pull the mask hose away from the ClimateLine but it's still noticeable when using the Swift FX hose.
Wondering if anyone else has noticed this yet? I don't unplug the mask hose from the ClimateLine hose that often on the S9 so it shouldn't be wear and tear has stretched it. Looking at the diameters of the plastic tube from the Swift FX and Activa they look identical sizes although judging by the Activa tube fitting less snugly I'm presuming the Swift FX tube is slightly larger by 1 or 2mm in diameter and maybe that's what's helped stretch the ClimateLine hose end being rubber.
Would be interested in your observations if you've noticed anything similar?
Thanks
Dave

Dave, I haven't had that problem, but I use a Swival Adaptor between the hose and my mask

There was a post about using silicone tape on the Climate Line hose to prevent tears, awhile ago, and I bought some to wrap around the rubber end of the hose and a few inches of the hose, to stabilize it:

This might also work for your loose connection.

That F4 tape is some awesome stuff. When you wrap it around something it adheres to itself and is waterproof. We used to have it on AF bench stock. Great stuff but I didn't know it was so expensive.KatieW wrote:There was a post about using silicone tape on the Climate Line hose to prevent tears, awhile ago, and I bought some to wrap around the rubber end of the hose and a few inches of the hose, to stabilize it:

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Re: S9 ClimateLine hose (mask end) stretching
Thanks Katie and Gumby, I was thinking about putting some tape around there to make it more of a snug fit, the only concern I have is the more snug you make it quite possibly the more looser it will become over time and keep on stretching.
I can see why ResMed made it a rubber connector because it makes it easier to push on and pull off, but unfortunately as it's rubber it seems to have some stretching abilities .
I'll give some tape a try and see how it goes.
Thanks
Dave

I found X-treme brand silicone tape at Harbor Freight for under $5.
Vetwrap at Tractor Supply is even cheaper (I'm using that)
Poverty or penury need not be an obstacle.
