Ever dream right away?
Anyone out there ever start dreaming within 5 minutes of falling asleep? I thought REM sleep took longer than that. BTW, I don't dream immediately all of the time.

One dreams all the time, REM dreams tend to be more "challenging" - reviewing the negative aspects of life and learning, while other dreams more "fun".newyorknative wrote:Anyone out there ever start dreaming within 5 minutes of falling asleep? Check out pBS website for their dream program on NOVA.

How could you possibly know unless you set an alarm to awaken you after 5 - 10 minutes?newyorknative wrote:Anyone out there ever start dreaming within 5 minutes of falling asleep? I thought REM sleep took longer than that. BTW, I don't dream immediately all of the time.

If someone is watching your rapid eye movement, that is a way to tell..
My husband goes into rem in sixty seconds sometimes..
I have heard if you are VERY VERY tired, as if you missed an entire full day of sleep the night before this might happen..
People with narcolopsy sometimes display this symptom as well.
