cpap software

I understand that my machine will write to a card and transfer data on how I'm doing--but that's all I know.
Can you tell me what card I need?
Is there software that I can buy (other than the manufacturer's software, which I've downloaded in simplest form but haven't used)?
Although I've used cpap for 10 years, I'm a noobe at this and technically challenged with computers.

Your S8 should have came with a card. If not, you can buy one from CPAP.com. The RedMed card is an odd shape. You need ResMed's card reader to read it. The reader hooks to a USB port on a modern PC. They typically only work with 32-bit Windows. Keep that in mind because some vendors are shipping 64-bit Windows. I wasn't able to get the card reader drivers to work on 64-bit. The software has suddenly become hard to find. You might be able to order it from Australia, or buy it off of E-bay, or find someone who will slide you a copy.

It is very worthwhile to watch your data. I watched it nearly every day when I was new, then weekly as I worked to get things dialed in. I only look about once per month now. You can get summary data off of the display on your machine. That is OK for AHI, but for leaks, the leak line is more informative than the overall number. You need to know what kinds of leaks you have. The AI and HI graphs are also pretty important so you can see what kind of events you have, and when they occur.

I have found an excellent cpap supplier. Wish I had done this before I bought my 2nd machine. (That's right--1 machine lasted 9 years! Had 3 masks during that time.)
