S9 pressure never changes

Post by burke2969 » Mon Jun 07, 2010 9:29 pm

When I check my data my pressure always remains the same. Should it change?

Which model is it?
If it's an Elite.......no.
If it's an Autoset.........maybe yes and maybe no. (they can be set to a constant pressure)

Den
(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

I think it must have been set as 14.8. The purpose of the auto was to adjust the pressure from 10 to 15. I'll have to go see what the deal is.

Thanks

I just received my S9 AutoSet this weekend from my local DME. It was supposed to be set to my usual narrow APAP range. This is how my local DME set it up instead: fixed pressure of 4cm. Can you imagine if someone brand new to CPAP received that?

Definitely have the machine's settings checked out to make sure there was not a mistake in how they configured it. Good luck.

SWS, Curious, what is your narrow range setting as it correlates to your titration? Thanks.

8cm-to-12cm APAP versus a titration of 10cm.

I don't recall my 420e or vintage RemStar Auto often, if ever, going above 12cm in experiments. Last night the S9 AutoSet went from 8cm to the 12cm ceiling based on isolated flow limitation followed by flow limitation plus simultaneous snore. If the S9 repeatedly hits my 12cm ceiling, I'll experimentally raise that ceiling to see how that might impact subjective sleep quality or AHI.

A surprising amount of central periodicity and central AI in that S9 data recording, despite good residual AHI scores so far---but mainly sleep/wake ventilatory instability I think... By far the most comfortable PAP I have slept with. Cflex never agreed with me but EPR does... I'll turn it off to see how that slight periodicity might be affected.
