Day Two - Victory

Post by kurth83 » Wed May 12, 2010 10:08 am

Hi Again,

Last night was much better, set for 9cm CPAP EPR 2 like I said,
and things went very well. Best night's sleep I have had in a long time!
No feelings of suffocation (apparently those can mean something important
and are are not just trouble adjusting to a mask).

So I have confirmed the theory that I was O2 starved at the lower pressure.
Newbies (like me) take note of that, very low pressures
are not good , the CO2 port doesn't do its job.

I still have a slight headache, but I hope that is a leftover from yesterday,
my headaches routinely take more than a day to recover from.

I found the CO2 port stats for my mask, there was a very nice graph
in the manual that came with it. At my previous 4cm it vents 20
and at 7cm it vents 30 (I think the units were L/min).

My stats were 9.25 hours, AHI 1.1 (all centrals), leak 1.2 (95% 2.4).
Which is a slight increase in AHI, but no OSA's unlike when I was on auto.

At this point I want to get the oximeter for the S9, since so much quality
of life depends on this I would like to have some confirmation my O2 levels
are good.

I am curious how O2 goes when a central occurs (mine are 10-18 secs), anybody else collect
data on this? Are we just reacting to hyperventilation, like we have a machine
connected to our heads stuffing air down our throats or something?
