water bubbeling up the tube and all over.
water bubbeling up the tube and all over.
has anyone had any problem with their humidifier gargling and going up the hose.my tub isn't past the full line.it wakes me up,really would like to be able to use it all night.but it wakes me up,and I have to take it off.
Re: water bubbeling up the tube and all over.
Is it actually bubbling up the tube from the humidifier (too much water in tank) or is it condensation/rainout from having the humidity turned up too high?
With my tank I can't fill it to the full line or it will bubble like crazy when I turn the machine on.
For the condensation build up turn your humidity down a bit. I can't go past 2 without getting rainout and even then I still get it on some nights. Otherwise get yourself a hose cover to help insulate the hose. Search this site for hose cover or heated hose for all kinds of suggestions for home made ideas. I just finished crocheting a hose cover for mine because I like my humidity turned up. I'll be trying it out for the first time tonight.

it isn't to the full line but I to have it turned up to 4.will try turning down tonight.let me know how the tube cove works.shouldnt be to hard to make one of them.or I did see the ones you can buy.thank you for your input.
Re: water bubbeling up the tube and all over.
When I had a ResMed, I tried to shortcut putting the humidifier back together instead of reseating everything exactly as I'd been instructed. It started bubbling wildly. After putting it back together properly it was fine. Had you taken it apart between the last time it didn't bubble and the time it did?

Re: water bubbeling up the tube and all over.
4 seems seems like a lot of humidity. I've been turning mine up to 3 lately because I recently had sinus surgery and the humidity feels great. I'm getting about 2-3 hours of sleep before I start to notice the "rainout". I have high hopes for hose cover though. I think the ones you can order are just a double layer of fleece with velcro to hold it shut. If you really like that much humidity you might have to rig up a heated hose. They are expensive but I saw a post around here somewhere about using a reptile heater cord to make one for around $15. If I understood the concept correctly you just lay the heated cord inside a hose cover and away you go. This helps keep the cool air in your room from creating condensation out of the warm moist air in your hose. Here's the link to that discussion. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27579&st=0&sk=t&sd= ... eated+hosezimmy39 wrote:it isn't to the full line but I to have it turned up to 4.will try turning down tonight.let me know how the tube cove works.shouldnt be to hard to make one of them.or I did see the ones you can buy.thank you for your input.
I'm not having trouble with congestion but I've seen a lot of people on here say they get congested with a high humidity. I just thought I would mention that in case you are having congestion.

Sounds like rainout to me. A heated hose will help most but using a hose cover and turning it down will help some.

thank you for all the ideas. I will give them a try.
Re: water bubbeling up the tube and all over.
Also try putting your CPAP machine on the floor - that worked for me. I think that the condensation that turns to water flows back into the humidifier and doesn't stay in the hose and make that gurgling noise.
