Homemade chin strap ideas?

It is allergy season for me. Despite the medicine and the neti pot use, I am still stuffy at bedtime. I can't take a proper decongestant because I have high BP. I am noticing that my mouth is opening at night- I woke myself up this way. I am fine to breath through my nose, it isn't too stuffy that it prevents that. It is just that my mouth is sneaking open. Any suggestions on homemade chin strap? Or should I just order one from the DME? I would rather find a way to do it myself.

I had a sweat band type thing but it was too tight when I tried it that way

Editing to add that I don't want to tape my mouth shut because I am allergic to everything, a bandaid breaks me out in a rash. So I would rather not risk that.

I modified mine (don't use it anymore), but I never made one from scratch.
Can you sew? Maybe you can cut two headbands open, sew them together at one end, cut to right length, and either sew the remaining ends together or sew on some velcro. That's off the top of my head, so I don't know how that'll work out.

When I was a chin strap user sweatbands were my go to chin strap. I also liked using the ACE ankle wrap as a chin strap. Wide, flexible, comfortable and there is enough of the wrap that if you don't like the first one you can try again.
