Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOO-HOO what a ride!

I think that may be my PR1's great grandaddy.

Try more like great, great, great granddaddy !
That's a "REMstar Choice CPAP System". It should have a remote control to turn the critter on and off. You need a manometer to set the pressure. Altitude adjustment, grab the manometer! And it was just a little quieter than my shop vac! How old do you think it is? Well, it's the first CPAP unit that I used!

No, it's older than that. Here is the manual for the REMstar Choice LS:Wulfman wrote:... The Service Manual I have for it has a date from 1997. ...

It has a 1991 Copyright. And the REMstar Choice LS came out a year or two after the REMstar Choice. !!

ah - the trash can model - picked one up at a thrift store - mine was LS - noisy bugger - set it with manometer - ethernet type port in the top by the dials to set it - had ramp - never owned the remote - used standard computer cord (didn't have a cord when I got it)
data wasn't around for years -

Re: Respironics CPAP machine
The previous model only had a small rheostat on top of the circuit board at the top of the column (under the cap) to adjust the pressure. I panicked my DME at the time. I had to travel to a high altitude location, was unable to arrange a time with my DME to adjust the pressure, so I built a manometer, adjusted found how to adjust the pressure and where to set it (before and after). When I came back, I brought it back to check to be certain it was set properly. After trying to yell at me for monkeying with the pressure, they asked "Why didn't you bring it by?". I asked them to check their call logs. Then they checked the pressure ... and discovered it was set on the right pressure.jules wrote:... mine was LS - noisy bugger - set it with manometer - ethernet type port in the top by the dials to set it - had ramp ...
Would you be surprised that I decided to switch to an on-line supplier for my next xPAP purchase?

There is no way I would trust my life to that machine!!! LOL!!! Of course back then, it was probably top of the line. CPAP has definitely come along way since then!!

Re: Respironics CPAP machine
Couldn't resist posting these pics of some early models.
Resmed Autoset-T (1990s)
Bipap S/T (the really big square box - Possibly late 1980s or early 1990s). Still work well Requires manometer.
&
PB320 Bilevel - sounds like a 707 ifn flight. Requires manometer.
also
PB330 BiLevel (a great machine & one of my favorites from the past - used it with a HC150 H/H
Also is a clinic titration machine (The Respironics Quartet) that could do CPAP, Auto, Bilevel & split night.
It goes back to the 1980s or early 1990s.

Hey! I did. I'm a perfect example of what it can do ...ummm... Perhaps that was not the ringing encorsement I had intended!preemiern wrote:... There is no way I would trust my life to that machine!!! ... CPAP has definitely come along way since then!! ...
And that CPAP was LOUD! Folks who complain about this or that unit being loud have NO idea! I used to walk uphill both ways just to try to sleep.
