The machine is probably okay but it is a basic machine. Are you looking at a used one? If so, how many blower hours does it have on it? Is it an M Series or the older "tank" model?

If you are interested in using software and tracking your therapy, it is not a good one. The only data it might give is how often and how long you used it. It will not give any detailed data (apneas, hypopneas, leak rate) even if it has a smart card in it.

According to your profile your machine is a PR System One Remstar PRO cpap machine with C-Flex Plus.

That is different than a Remstar PlUS, which you asked about.

The one in your profile is a good machine and will show some data on the LCD screen. It is Remstar PRO. While there is a smart card in it, software is not yet available for patient use but it apparently available somewhere on the net. Someone who has one and has the software will have to tell you where to get it.

Unfortunately the names of these machines are so similar it can be confusing.

IMHO Feel good. You have a very nice machine. The PR System One is a new line from this manufacturer. It should meet all your requirements. There are three levels, Plus, Pro and Auto. They all look the same. You have to read the label on top to tell the difference. The Plus does not record the Therapy Data. The Pro does. The Auto is good if there are lots of changes and if you have not had your tritaition tests yet (determines the pressure you need) Again, enjoy. It is a very good quiet machine. Notice it is the same one I have. Go have a good nights sleep.

well maybe i got lucky. I got my test results one day and the Dr. had the machine ordered and delivered the next day thur a local company. After reading how so many people get screwed by their home health company, I thought maybe they sold me a crappy one. (thank goodness that seems not to be the case)

Believe it or not, there are actually quite a few good DMEs out there--you just don't hear about them as much because people are not likely to start a thread about what a good experience they had. My DME provided me a ResMed AutoSet II right off the bat before I knew anything about the machines, also a good data-capable machine. They also called me 3 times to follow-up to see if I was experiencing any issues and had me come in to exchange my mask when I told them I was having issues with sores on my nose.

Yes, since it's a Pro instead of a Plus, you did receive a good one, msudawg. Both "treat" exactly the same (they are both CPAP) but the Pro gives useful data about how the treatment is going. A Plus does not.

That looks like the machine I have (only for a week). I was wondering the same thing - if it was a good machine. I cannot find anything in the paperwork that says plus, pro or auto. The book says REMstar Auto A-Flex system. I added this to my profile, so let's see if it shows in my post. My book says it has an SD Card. The therapist that delivered the machine did not give me any info about how to use the SD Card and if I can get a reading. It doesn't seem to make any sense to have a machine if you cannot get a reading. Can these machines be exchanged? So far, I have not been able to use it a full night.

Lorri, if you have a Philips Respironics System One REMstar Auto with A-Flex, you have an excellent machine, too.

You can definitely get "readings" yourself from the machine (in the LCD display) and from the SD card.
