ResScan 3.10 & detailed data

Post by scrapper » Sun Feb 21, 2010 7:30 pm

Possibly this is a dumb question--I'm not sure if the amount of detailed data is a function or limitation of the S8 machine, the data card, or the software.

Does the new software require downloads every 4-5 days with the S8 to contain detailed data or can a person go longer between downloads?

The S8 stored its data internally & dumped it to a datacard anytime it was inserted. If the card got left in, the machine also updated the datacard data.
The S8 could hold the 5 nights detailed data & a years worth of average data.

The S8 with a Reslink could store a lot more days data (used a different datacard) plus could store a lot more detailed data. Reslink data is more 'granular' than the normal detailed data.

The new S9 (IIRC via the SD card) does hold many more days (30 IIRC) plus holds it in the same level of detail previously only held on the Reslink datacard. Thus the new S9 data capacity is greater than when we used to get off a Reslink. The new SD card format holds more data BUT, IIRC, if you don't leave an SD card in the machine, you get less data (I'll double check this).

Good luck

See this link for details of the data shown.

An extract that spells out what the SD card holds vs what the machine holds (my understanding is that if the SD card is not present you don't get the detailed data).

What the 2 charts state is that without an SD card the data is minimal (and requires a USB cable & adapter) but with SD card you can save ...

7 days of highly detailed data
30 days of detailed data and
365 days of summary data

You do not need any special card reader for reading the SD card. Resmed provide you with (easy to buy) SD to USB adapter & ResScan recognizes the dada on the SD card when the program starts up. I believe the data is left on the card after any downloads & when put back in the machine, S9 keeps updating that data.
