I believe that you should use the smallest mask possible. In that way there will be less of a chance for leaks. If you breath...inhale AND exhale...through your nose try the nasal mask first. If you find that you leak through the mouth, add a chinstrap of go to a FF mask.

You ask if a full face mask would "help"... help what? Is there some kind of issue you are having with the nose mask? Full face masks come with their own set of problems--tend to be leakier and cause more nose bridge issues.

many CPAP users who normally nose breathe find they mouthbreathe when first using a CPAP with a nose only mask, a very dry mouth and tongue results

if you dont have this very dry mouth on waking, you have no problems
australian, anxiety and insomnia, a CPAP user since 1995, self diagnosed after years of fatigue, 2 cheap CPAPs and respironics comfortgell nose only mask. not one of my many doctors ever asked me if I snored

I also breath only from my nose during sleep but I cannot stand any nose only mask, pillows or combination.
I feel much more comfortable with a full face, maybe for the long years wearing it at work ..... so I use a Mirage Quattro and I am very happy.

Only I have to be careful while laying face down or sideway to avoid displacing it. After 2 years and 100% compliance I learned .....

Cheers

I currently use the Respironics OptiLife Mask If you only need a nasal mask then it's best too only use a nasal mask I find that with less bulk theirs less of a chance of me pulling it off at night. But the decision is about what makes you comftable.
