I am from India, I too had the same experience and decided to go for the Respironics machine. The price difference is about 2.5 times what cpap.com sells the same machines for - further our insurances do not cover OSA treatments or equipments. So paying every additional $ hurts. I did not want to risk the import thru UPS either as some of the bigger companies have ways to block the custom clearance process or have them charge exhorbitant duties (offically its 16.67% max) - but they rather spend money on lawyers and lavish gifts on officials to protect their 250% profits. I had my machine delivered to a friend in the US who was coming to India and he brought it for me in his personal baggage.

Hello Sleepybaby,

It is so good to have you here on this forum!

I don't know of any specific companies that will ship ResMed machines to China, but have you tried any of the Australian companies, such as http://cpapaustralia.com/? Perhaps you can contact them to find out if they can help you get the ResMed machine you want.

You also may want to send a private message (PM) to other forum members who also live in China, to see if they know of any sources. According to his profile, "Bucko" lives in Kunming: viewtopic/t46996/memberlist.php?mode=vi ... le&u=34932.

And you may want to look at this thread: viewtopic/t46996/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=43 ... na#p405802, as someone mentions a forwarding service called Shipito.

If you can change the title of this thread to include the word "China", perhaps someone with more knowledge will come to your aid.

Please let us know what you find! There may be others from your part of the world also looking for a ResMed machine.

Best wishes to you,

DreamOn

Try Craigslist.com for used machines.
I checked some China cities and found 2 available in Shanghai. Might be one in some other cities also.

What a great idea, LSAT! I checked eBay last night but didn't see any. I hadn't even thought of Craigslist, although I have searched there locally for CPAP before.

I hope that SleepyBaby is successful in finding the machine.

Ebay doesn't allow them to be sold there, not even "complete" masks, only parts. Although, so people have been creative in their listings :http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT

Amazon.com has a few used ones on there quite often from individual sellers. If you are allowed to have a Paypal account, I suggest you get one asap as that's how most things are purchased.

Good Luck!

Yes, I know that there are restrictions on eBay. Some people are very creative! I just found this REMstar Auto M Series with A-Flex (including humidifer and nasal pillows mask) on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/NASAL-PILLOWS-OR-FU ... 3efa8ace97! Good to know!

Hi Everybody

What DreamOn says may well work for what you want.

However, I have had personal experience with cpapaustralia.com and would not recommend them to anybody. When the guy realised he was not talking to a sleep deprived, brain frazzled newcomer, and that I would not accept his lies, he put the phone down on me.

This is not to say they would not be able to help, but I now get all my on-line stuff from cpapauction. And I live in Australia.

As for getting one in China, I would think that Hong Kong would be the place for that.

cheers

Dreamon, have you been successful in find the CPAP machine?Maybe it is easier in US,but not in China. Not many people here in China use the CPAP,and even don't know what CPAP is.
