ResScan - How are apneas determined? / Central apneas

Hello all,

Are central apneas included in the ResScan data, or only obstructive apneas?

Also, can someone explain how the machine and ResScan determine if an apnea is a "true apnea" rather than "awake breath-holding"? I suspect that I may unconsciously hold my breath at times -- when I awaken and shift sleeping position, for instance. Does ResScan factor in snoring or some other indicators when it flags an apnea? Does it know that I am actually sleeping? Just curious.
