Dr RX for SmartCard?

Post by Lindsay » Mon Sep 12, 2005 2:02 pm

Hi all, First, thank you posters, I have learned so much from you.
Using Apria (no choice in this town), was given Mirage FF Series 2. I said I believe this was being phased out, they said that is the one they were using till all was used up. Whatever.......
I asked about a Smart Card, or for them to download information from my Remstar Plus w/C flex to see if I needed the fixed pressure of 17 changed.
Was told my machine did not do this and, that the Doctor would have to prescribe a machine that did. (I am sure he doesn't know anything about CPAP machines other than what they do.)
I am concerned that I am using a pressure of 17 forever and not being abe to check results. Does a person just go by "how they feel" to determine if things are as well as can be.
What can I tell my doctor to have him prescribe a machine I can download information from. Thank you.

Lindsay,

The only info that you will get from the smartcard in your REMstar plus is compliance data (how long you use the machine ea night). The plus does not keep track of AHI data.

Sincerely,
