CPAP Mask Wipes

Post by TheDreamer » Thu Oct 01, 2009 7:06 pm

I saw that cpap.com has a new product "CPAP Mask Wipes". Odd, but I clicked anyways....ooh, they are unscented CPAP Mask Wipes....also the Citrus II ones don't seem to be available anymore? Odd, I though I saw a DME selling them at the state fair last month (didn't think to ask about it, even though I knew I was running low).

I had gotten the Citrus II ones from cpap.com right when I was starting....I remember thinking these could get expensive....but last night I used last of the CPAP wipes....from the first container. A pretty good run. Now to start into the second one.....

It lasted longer because I've been cutting into quarters...sufficient to wipe nasal pillows. Wonder if I will continue with quarters on my full face mask.

Howdy All,

Beaumont Products, makers of the Citrus II CPAP Wipes, are having production issues. The date of delivery has slipped on us multiple times and we're not fully confident in the expected date we have now. I like their product, as do many CPAP.com'ers. I hope they sort these issues out and business gets back to normal.

Given that we were looking at a month without wipes, we went shopping for alternatives. Many like Citrus, many more just want an unscented wipe that is non-"chemical" (yeah, everything is a chemical, but you know what I mean...) and gets it done. We think we've found one.

If you try out the new ones, I'd love to hear feedback on this thread or as a CPAP.com user review. We just got them in and first impressions are positive.

Johnny,
I hate to ask, but what's the difference between a CPAP wipe, and the baby wipes I can get at any CVS? I mean, what's the advantage?

I pull one out, use it, then fold it small enough to fit under the cap of the container. Snap down the cap and save it for the next night. I generally use 'em 3-4 nights before tossing it and pulling a new one out. Storing them under the cap keeps them from evaporating.

I bought a two-pack about 7-8 months ago and haven't cracked the seal on the second container yet.

When I say quarters...I mean lengthwise quarters and not square quarters. I just pull out and cut a bit off. It also results in them being uneven quarters...the last bit might be a little bigger than the preceding 3....

I had also done the got 2 packs thing...I cracked the seal last night, but then discovered that there was a whole sheet left in the bottom of the old container...so I'm using that....so a bit over 9 months from a single pack...and it probably would've gone longer, but I had pulled a bunch of sheets and put into a ziploc for travel. Used a few and the rest dried out.

.
When I need a mask wipe, I buy the Parents Choice Baby Wipes - Unscented. Very cleansing and nothing in them that would hurt the materials in a mask. Probably a lot more economical than the wipes sold specifically for CPAP masks, and I'd expect would clean as well. They've worked fine for me.
