Respironics FullLife Report

Today, after waiting 2 weeks (not too bad), I was able to try the new Respironics FullLife full face mask at my local Apria DME. Upon initial donning of the mask, without the CPAP pressure, I thought that it really felt comfortable. To prevent all leaks (my pressure is 16.5), we had to really tighten the headgear to a point that was uncomfortable to me. Although this mask is not suitable for me, I think that it will be a real winner for people at lower pressures.

Next, the DME offered to try the Respironics FitLife full face mask (this is the one that covers the entire face including eyes and mouth). I think that there is just too much surface area for the seal. Leaks were everywhere! Enough said about that.

Finally, I asked to try a ResMed Mirage Quattro. After making adjustments to stop leaks, she felt pretty good. I decided to take her home with me and sleep with her tonight. If all goes well, I will update my equipment list to mention her.

Nice update

I have tried the full and fit life but not the quatro or the comfort full. I would be interested to hear.

Does the other woman in your life know (and approve) of this behavior?

Thanks for posting about your fitting experience. It's too bad the FullLife couldn't work for you, but I think you're right about it being a good option for someone with a lower pressure than yours. (It works really well for me at 12 cm.)
