PB Adam Circuit
Do any of you use the PB Adam Circuit? If so, what do you think of it?

WillSucceed, I have not used the Adam circuit, but it sure looks interesting. Very simple, and I liked the way the hose routes straight over the head. It would seem to be ideal for side sleepers. It reminds me of what people have been doing to modify the swift to go directly overhead. I hope somebody has used one and posts some feedback.

Sleepless on LI, looks very similar, but when I compare the pictures the main piece that holds the pillows looks different. Also, the headgear is different. They're both made by Puritan Bennett, and both about the same price. I wonder why they would have two products so similar that compete with one another?

The Adam Circuit is the oldest surviving nasal pillow/prong system. It predates the Breeze by many years. There was a time when the ONLY cpap interfaces in the world that worked at all (patients MIGHT not develop sores) was the Respironics Contour, the Healthdyne Softseries, and the Puritan Bennett Adam Curcuit. The Adam Circuit remains a viable option for some but most will find that better options now exist.

I'm asking the queston again so as to push this topic up the list...
Has anyone used an ADAM Circuit and, how do/did you like it?

Willsucceed,
I know this is slightly off topic, but couldn't you use your Breeze with just the headgear from the AC? It seems like a far better headgear to me, especially with the straps that come down diagonally and support the shell where the prongs are housed. Just a thought. Don't know if there is something specially designed that is a point of attachment on the AC for those straps that the Breeze doesn't have.
Are you going to buy this if you get the right feedback?

Good question, I'm debating giving it a try but need lots more info before I bite the bullett.

My main problem with the Breeze was the wobbly, unstable headgear (IN MY OPINION ONLY-my disclaimer). When I look at this, it seems to be a much smarter idea. The one question I have is, it takes the same type of nasal pillows as the Breeze, right? Now you have me thinking. I liked the idea of the Breeze for side sleeping, but found the headgear just not good for me. This elastic strap setup, especially with those diagonal ones holding the pillows in place, seems really smart. Maybe it would hurt the nares by putting too much pressure on it, though. I can't tell from the photo.
Am interested now, too, in hearing from anyone who has it and uses/used it.

I've tried the Adam
I am fairly new to CPAP. I've only been using it for 3 weeks. I tried a traditional mask during my sleep study, but no good. They also had a "Snap" and I got through the night okay. Fast Forward.
My DME had only one nasal pillow system--ADAM. I took it home thinking it would be the same. It goes in/against the nostrils, right? I made it through 4 nights, barely! The headgear is real good--very adjustable, and soft. The biggest problem, though, is the angle of the shell. The pillows don't point "up" into your nostrils. They rather point more rearward. This causes leaks and sores. I had sores after 2 days. I know I needed to give it more time but just couldn't. This is a known problem. I say this because I found an adapter elbow listed (I think on Cpap.com) that replaces the straight swivel on the ADAM, thereby increasing the angle of the shell. The lack of a stiff bridge (unlike the Breeze this one just uses the same basic cpap hose to the shell) causes leaks when you sleep on your side. Finally, the little straps that stabilize and pull the shell up to your nostrils seems to interfere with my eyes when adjusted to the most effective position.
I have, since my sleep study, tried the following: Snap, ADAM, Infinity, Breeze, Swift, and some other over-the-nose mask. The Breeze is so much better than the ADAM. No sores, no leaks, even on my side. My favorite is the Swift. I hope this helps.
PS: WillSucceed I would be happy to send my ADAM to you. I am never going to use it. I even have some new-sealed-in-the-bag medium pillows (I use large). Let me know.

It's time for the Swift conspirators to arise and take over the xPAP world!
(OK, I know it doesn't work for everyone, and masks are an individual thing, but feels like more and more people are saying that it works for them. I know it does for me!)
