Cuba CPAP machine safety

Post by carlitguy » Fri Jul 24, 2009 9:55 am

We are going for several weeks to Cuba. I will have my machine and usually leave it set up all day when we are out. Would the machine be safe? Did you have any power or water issues?

Sigh. Hard for any of us Americans to say. I'm afraid that's one place on earth I might never get to see. However, if it's anything like Guatemala, I felt my belongings were very safe in the hostel and hotels. The people are very good and proprietors care a lot about their guest's safety. Most the places we stayed in were surrounded by some sort of gate or wall if they were in a city.

Do anticipate more humidity than you are used to and plan accordingly.

Enjoy yourself!! And do post pictures of the forbidden island.

My wife and I both have CPAP machines and took them with us to Cuba (Holguin) without any problem. You will need to purchase a converter (available at travel supply stores) for the electrical-- we were worried about that but it worked fine.

we put away the machines during the day just so they were not in the way of the maids at the all-inclusive-- you could probably leave them out but why tempt fate.

Have a wonderful trip.
