Good Bye

Post by medic117 » Wed Jun 17, 2009 8:40 pm

I wish everyone well, but I am leaving the board. I appreciate the information and those who offered help, but think they are few and far between.

Lots of good folks here... you are only 9 posts into your journey on the board... stick around.

Well, you can't say you didn't get any responses to your posts......I went back and checked all of your posts and threads you started. You only get out of this what you put into it.

Good luck.

Jay,

I just found your post. I apologize if you were neglected in any way. It takes lots of posting and question-asking to get to know people of the Forum . . . and the overwhelming majority of us are truly wanting to be helpful to others. I encourage you to get more involved with reading and questions - reach out to us. In time you will find out what a great bunch of folks are here.

I see you have a very good machine. How are you doing with your CPAP treatment? Are you monitoring it on Software? Can we help you interpret your results? Do you need help posting your software reports?

Beyond the Forum itself, there is a TREASURE of articles that continue to help me that can be found on the blue bar above: New Users and Our Wisdom. Have you spent time there? I'm sure you will greatly benefit from reading them. They are an excellent resource. I'm still working on getting it all read. Wow, there is great stuff there!

What can we do to help?

Joy

Sorry you're leaving, Jay. Hoping you will reconsider. It took me almost a year of ineffective CPAP therapy before I found this forum, learned about data and tweaking my CPAP, and began to feel the positive effects of CPAP. If you'll just hang in here with us a bit, I think you find the information is invaluable, perhaps even life changing (has been for me!). Good luck!

So long tough guy.... peace.

as was said before me, you only get out what you put in...

I am not afraid to ask questions or read other peoples data, even if I do not know what I am looking at.

I never asked to be connected to a hose, and after 6 weeks still have difficulty adapting at times, but it helps me
knowing I am not alone.

good luck in your journey.

I wish you a sincere good-bye, but why did you make the grand announcement in the first place.?

Leaving is your choice. I looked back at your posts and, it looks to me like you got several responses to them.

Getting used to cpap therapy does take time and it can be frustrating and annoying at times. You just have to get through that or give up. We can't speed up how you adjust to it.

It appears that you have had several people try to help you on the forum. That's all we can do.

If you are really gone, you won't be reading this!

I just read over his posts and the replies. I don't understand his complaint, if it is one, as it seems to me that he got good feed-back. All I can say is good luck in the future and bye bye.

As for me, I'll be sticking around. I have gained a lot of knowledge on this forum and learn something new every day.

Polysomn-man syndrome, maybe?

Unfortunately, it seems those who leave in a huff are the ones who need moral support the most. All of his posts got multiple responses.

Including this one...

Wow! Obviously you have unmet expectations. I didn't go back and read your prior posts. Just want to say in general that if your state of being is anything like mine was at that point in my treatment, that could be influencing your perspective. Decisions made while sleep deprived and utterly frustrated may not be the same as one would make at a better time.

By the way, reply count isn't necessarily a gauge of the members' helpfulness. Sometimes the more specific a question, the fewer it will apply to, and one good answer can mean there's nothing else to add.

At any rate, I wish you success in your treatment however you can get it. That's the bottom line for me. If you think you should go, so be it. If at any point you think otherwise, don't feel you have to stand by your goodbye.

Kathy

We can....and do....help with CPAP therapy......but, we can't help with psychological therapy.

Jay, I looked at your first post, and don't know if you're aware that many of the "big guns" came out in a hurry to welcome you and continued to give you excellent guidance on all of your 9 posts. As Kathy said, sometimes one good answer is all that's needed. In the beginning, I know my questions were somewhat confusing and not always easily understood (still are), but I always found the answer here even if I had to ask for the same advice over and over. Hope you're reading this and give it some more time. Dori

I'm sorry to hear you're leaving too, Jay. I read this forum every day, and take note even though I understand very little of the technical information. But I'm learning. I take the good information I need and leave the rest. Hope you change your mind, I agree it's tought to make major decisions when you're sleep-deprived. It can get better if you hang in there.
