Papcap and Hans Rudolph?

Post by psikes » Fri Jun 05, 2009 9:39 am

Has anyone used a Papcap with the HR V2? I have been using a Respironics chinstrap and have learned to truly dislike it. It has really started to make my jaw hurt by morning. My jaw drops so much when I sleep that I have to use a chinstrap.

Thanks - Phil

Phil, the papCAP will work as a chinstrap with any mask, including the Hans Rudolph.

You just wear the papCAP beneath your headgear (like an undergarment). Most people report that when used like this, it actually stabilizes the headgear and provides a surprising amount of cushioning, so that the straps are not as noticeable and don't irritate your skin, pull out hear, slip and slide etc.

Whether the Hans Rudolph can be directly attached to the papCAP (headgear replacement) is a different question. With a little more time and money I plan on being able to provide customized headgear replacement products. It might be something of a do-it-yourself project. The cap provides a very stable, broad mounting platform that accepts Velcro in almost any location and diffuses the force of tension over a broad surface area, so it's generall ideal for headgear replacement. When it comes to designing specific attachments and straps, that's another story (but at least for me it's not hard to visualize how that would work on any given headgear).

Sorry I can't be more specific--that's the best answer I can get you at this time.
