There are lots of posts on the board about hook ups for hoses, including plant hangers. I use a string and a scrunchie and hang it from the window lock. Low tech, cheap, easy.

There are 4 foot hoses made. Although cpap.com does not list them, you might go here:

http://www.youneedsleep.com/inc/sdetail/161

or here: http://www.thecpapshop.com/cpap-tubing/tsb-1.html (lengths from 1.5 feet to 10 feet).

As to hose management, you have many options. Search the forum using the term 'hose management' or 'hose hanger' and check out people's ideas (search box upper left of screen). Personally, I use a small unobtrusive L hook in the wall above my bed, painted the same color as the wall. I tie two long wide rubber bands together and thread the hose through one loop, and slip the other loop over the hook, et voila! cheap effective hose hanger.

I just use a simple nail in the wall above the headboard and a shoestring around the nail and the hose back to my head. Seems to help with rain-out and makes it easier to move around at night. If you don't want to put a hole in the wall, use the 3M hooks that are removeable. They make them in all different varieties. My method may be overly simplistic, but hey, it works for me

I have no problems with my 6' hose. Direct the hose over the top of your head and over the back of the bed (or headboard). If the gravity weight of the hose is not enough to keep it there, add some slight weight to the hose. That should be enough tension to keep it out of your way without too much tension so it pulls on the mask.

Check out Rested Gals post for a link to my solution. It uses an adjustable plant hanger and after a week of use I still love it!

After you get moved, look into buying the Respironics High Performance Hose and a hose cover. It is much more flexible and the hose cover makes it more comfortable if it touches you. I have it tied with a Velcro strap to the headboard so I can't pull the CPAP off the nightstand.

I drape my hose over my headboard also. When I first started on cpap I let it hang down off the side of the bed, but the weight of the hose pulled on my mask. Turning the nozzle up and draping over the headboard works great. I have a scarf I drape over the headboard under the hose so that when I move or turn there is less noise from the hose rubbing against the headboard.

I used to have a brass headboard. But, after numerous moves, some screws had gotten lost and the holes had gotten bigger...so it would rattle. (I did stuff a pillow between bed and the headboard to help keep it still). But, the last furniture rearrangement was enough for it, and I got rid of it.

4-5 months later...I start CPAP...and now I want a headboard again.

What I got instead was HoseBuddy from cpap.com. It shortened hose (by too much), and gave it some height so rainout hasn't been as severe....and it handled hose + cover + repticord.... Though whacking my head against it getting in to bed or getting up in the morning isn't fun. And, it seems to be just in generally in the way. Of course, its set low to minimize lose of hose reach....which with my thick mattress puts it close to surface.

I've thought about buying longer hose, or a coupler and another 6' hose (seems that performance tubing is only available in the one size).

But, more recently I got the HoZer from cpap.com. At least now I can reach the off button my alarm instead of the whiplash of forgetting that I'm tethered to the other side of the bed....

At first with HoZer, there were some issues...because the end of the whip was close to the end of my hose. But, removing the middle section solved that. I might still want to get some hose extension....though I'm thinking of getting an HC150, so maybe that'll help (CPAP is on lower shelf of nightstand, instead of on top...to shield me from the noise and the blue lights)

Yes, I ran into the problem where the end hose clip won't accomodate anything but a bare hose...and I have hose cover (I left repti-cord out when I was putting things back together this last time, but then it got cold again ) I solved it with a piece of RipWrap....

I'm planning for the next rearrangement of furniture, to get a new headboard....but that might be a while off. Though it'll probably work out to be sooner than if I wasn't on CPAP. (the bottom drawer on my dresser had been lose for years and a couple moves ago....it all disintegrated recently...so now there's a clean pile, inaddition to the dirty pile, for clothes in my bedroom )

Guess that's a benefit of the hose management system...it keeps me from yanking my machine out of my nightstand, when I forget that I'm masked and tethered....

The Dreamer.

Apparently, the dresser did pretty good for being, almost 25 year old, IKEA....
