What? You got a sneak preview prior to publication? Chapter 4 is about all you've gone thru? We've got a celebrity amongst us now?? Or at least will have this summer when the book goes on sale?

I hope someone corrects Dr. Jones' definition of "VPAP."

Whew, James! That was some read! (Okay, I admit, about midway thru Chapter II curiosity got the best of me and I skipped forward to Chapter IV!) But I did then go back to the beginning and read it straight thru to the end. THANKS, again.

Very good read, it should be required reading for the general public over thirty, under thirty they think they are too tough to need to watch their health. Jim

Really interesting read, thanks a bunch! Just shows no matter how much you try to help people, some just don't want to hear.

And on the other hand, when you know what you need, some "experts" won't listen either!

I was surprised to read that per Dr. Jones, Jerry Garcia died of sleep apnea. That seems rather reductive, and a bit alarmist.

It's quite common knowledge that Jerry Garcia's death was attributed to many factors, among them: diabetes, a weight problem and years of drug abuse.

Clearly, if one wants to reduce that cause of death to one issue, then perhaps it would be more accurate to say: "cause of death was lack of taking care of his health/body."

Then again, diabetic rock musicians with weight problems who have done drugs are allowed to die due to complications attributable to sleep apnea too.

HOLY scalpel, Batman, sliced and diced.

......and what's this hole in my throat?

As I find myself w/some time on my hands.......
for the first time in decades, I went in and took a nap.
1:26' I actually went to sleep and dreamed.
....and when I woke up,
I just lay there for awhile,
feeling my mask,
listening to the rhythm of my breathing w/my machine, and........
feeling really safe.

My reverence and appreciation for my successful CPAP therapy,
just went up a few notches after reading that.
"If your therapy is improving your health but you're not doing anything
to see or feel those changes, you'll never know what you're capable of."
I said that.
