Questions about Encore Viewer

Post by terry123 » Sat Feb 28, 2009 9:53 am

I have Encore Viewer on my computer and check my husband's progress daily as he is still adjusting to his auto Resp.M.Series, Once a week, I go to my cpap.org program and reformat his Smart Card ( In the past, if I didn't reformat, I would lose some data.
My brother who lives in another town uses the same machine and has been on it about 6 weeks. He has never gotten any feedback as to what the results of his therapy is. So far no appointment to even follow up. We are meeting him for dinner this weekend. If I take my laptop, which has the viewer program on it, will I be able to view the whole card? Will I ruin any of the data, where it couldn't be retrieved by his DME(if they ever call him).
Also, I have http://www.mycap.org to reformat my card. The program installed on my desktop wtih no problem, however, when I tried to install it on my Laptop, it looks like it is installed, but when I click on it, looks like the program starts to open up, then closes very quickly. My desktop has xp and my laptop has Vista. Is that the problem. Can Vista not download this program properly?

I can't answer your questions about the program and Vista, but if Encore Viewer is working on the laptop, you should be able to download the data from his card and see the most recent details and compliance information. You shouldn't need to use the utility program just to download it into the Viewer program and get his reports printed. Encore Viewer will NOT affect any data on the card.

Thanks, Den. And I guess I should have posted 2 different questions. I didn't want to reformat his card, just wanted it on my Laptop if possible so when we travel, I can check our reports on the Laptop. I only wanted to read my brother's card so he could see if his therapy was effective. So far, he has not felt better, but he has a lot of back issues and chronic pain.
Thanks, Terry

I have windows Vista on my computer and have both the Encore Viewer and the reformatting utility program on it. They both work fine.

I am wondering if your Windows Vista is 32 or 64 bit. There are no problems with the Vista 32bit but , there seems to be a problem with the Vista 64 bit. Some seem to have resolved that problem. Maybe someone who has solved this on the Vista 64 bit will see this and help you.

My Vista program is 32 bit. I don't know what I am doing wrong.
