I've always ground my teeth a little bit. Ever since I've been hooked up to the hoover, I've been grinding my teeth like crazy.
I got a bite splint because if it. So far, its ok. Has anyone here ever had issues with a bite splint?
Its only been about 4 nights. Its kind of early to judge but I suspect the effectiveness of my treatment may have changed. Its possible I just need to get use to it but I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with a bite splint?

Re: Bite Splint
Is a bite splint the same thing as a night guard? If so, I have one and it took a while for me to see improvement with my TMJ. Give it some more time.

Re: Bite Splint
I've been wearing a custom made nightguard "bite splint" for 10 years. I only started CPAP 2 months ago, but I actually think having the splint helps me keep my mouth closed at night, so I think it helps with the CPAP therapy. I absolutely cannot sleep without my mouthpiece, as I have problems with my TM joint due to a childhood accident. If I sleep without it, I wake up with severe jaw pain. So I really don't have an option. I advise to keep wearing it, but I am new to the CPAP thing, so I'm not sure how it might affect your numbers. Good Luck!!!

Re: Bite Splint
Yep - I've got a bite splint because I've been grinding my teeth for years. I didn't wear it for awhile with cpap and my dentist pointed out that my two top front teeth are getting much shorter than the others. So I try to wear it most of the time. I agree that it seems to help with mouth leaking.
