Changing Mask: Will I need to change the air pressure?

Post by CMF » Wed Feb 04, 2009 1:56 pm

I've tried a nasal and a full face mask. I get a much higher apnea reading when using the nasal mask than when using the full face mask. Should I up the pressure on the nasal mask?

Thanks,
Charles

Shouldn't have to. But, you could adjust the settings and see if it changes the readings.

Den
(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

I think I'm due for a new mask.

Which of these should I pick:

The Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask or the FlexiFit HC431 Full Face Mask?

I have the a Comfort Full model now and it works fine until the adjusting set pins for the fore head part break off. Then there is no way to adjust the top of the mask and it becomes a nightmare.

I dont believe you should change pressures, but I definitely found the blow from my Comfort2 FFM to be less intrusive than my Quattro FFM

Charles,

I'd go with the UMFF. Make sure you get the right size. Use CPAP.COM's sizing chart #5. If you fall exactly between two sizes, I'd recommend going with the next larger size. I like the "Standard" cushions, too.
