problem with respironics machine

Post by Guest » Fri Jan 09, 2009 12:20 pm

Hi again. I lost my password so I can't login my username. My machine is the respironics m series auto pap. It's behaving strangely. I turn it on by pushing the button and the pressure comes on seems weak and the machine is beeping like crazy and lights are flashing. Happens intermittently. Also happens where I breathe into the mask and it turns on then it beeps and turns right back off then comes on again. The "auto off" and "mask off" features are both set to off. So is it broken do you think?

Could be the power brick (first suspicion) or it could be other things. If you got it locally, I'd suggest having them try switching out the power brick first and then if that doesn't do it.......?
Those lights flashing are "codes" to what may be the problem......there are different patterns to the lights and beeps depending on what is wrong.
Have you ever removed the card? You might try removing the card and see if it continues to do its "thing"......if that's not the problem, put the card back in and take it in to the DME.....or contact whomever you got it from.

First remove the smart card and try to use it, most error problems are from the smart card, you don't have to use the card for treatment. If the problem stops then it's the card or reader error, if it is turn off the power, wait a minute put the card back in "CORRECTLY", see if it still beeps. Jim
