Set up

Post by bnelson824 » Thu Jan 08, 2009 11:23 am

If I was to purchase a cpap machine from your on line service, would it be set up with my prescription, to my specifications. So that when I received it I would be able to just plug it in & use it or would I need to have it set up somewhere else?

This is not the customer service enail address for https://www.cpap.com

You should email them directly.

But to answer your question - I don't think online vendors set your pressures. I think all machines are pre-set with an out of the box pressure, and it's up to the DME or end user to re-set it.

In your case, that would be YOU.

https://www.cpap.com ships their Respironics M Series machines with the full clinical manuals, so you can set all your settings yourself.

I can't speak for other machines they sell.

Good luck!

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

CPap.com did set my machine per the prescription before sending it to me, however they also send the manual so you can set it yourself.

Any online/Internet seller HAS TO HAVE (a copy of) your prescription in order to sell you a machine. APAPs (Autos) can be ordered with a CPAP prescription. A straight-pressure CPAP machine will be set to your prescription by them before shipping it to you. APAPs will be set at the default 4 - 20 cm. pressure settings (unless your doctor has written an APAP prescription for a different pressure range).

The machines also come with ALL the manuals.....Setup and User.

When I got my ZZZ pap last month I got a laugh in that the manual had the DME info on the last page and had a dashed line drawn on that page with instructions to remove that page before giving the manual to patient...LOL.

Yeah, I love that about cpap.com that they don't remove that info!

Both of these were obtained from cpap.com.

My Everest needed a pressure to be given before shipping it to me. My APAP tank did not and came 4 - 20. Both machines had information about the pressure on them when I got them (everest on the invoice - APAP with a sticky).

The Everest came with the clinical manual and the DO NOT OPEN sticker - you know how long that lasted. The APAP did not include the clinical manual I don't think but I would have to go back and find the paperwork for it. Someone recently obtained a Vantage I chat with and I don't believe the got the clinical manual.

The "clinical" (Setup) information for those machines can also be downloaded from their website, too......it's in the .PDF version of the manual, too.

Thanks for passing that along. You know, the ZZZpap is a really nice little machine. I like mine.
