Strap marks

Post by library teacher » Wed Jan 07, 2009 2:05 pm

It is now 2:00 P.M. and I still have strap marks on my face. Usually they go away in a couple of hours, but not today. To top it all off I didn't sleep well last night, waking up every hour and looking at the clock. I have been using CPAP for about 6 weeks now and am still not feeling rested. I believe it is because I can not rest with all that I have on my face and head. I have to use a chin strap and had it on over the mask straps. Maybe I should have put it on first. Any suggestions?

I agree! The Padacheeks make it sooo much more comfortable, and no marks in the morning! Padacheek is also a member of this forum and a cpap user. She will work with you to get just what you need.

I slept better last night waking up every two hours instead of every hour. The strap marks were not as bad. I put my chin strap on first and then the straps were over it.

Thanks on the advice. I will order some pad a cheeks.

Hi there!!!! Lots of Library Teachers, and other teachers, and school secretaries here.

You might also try a different mask. With my Nasal Aire II, I've eliminated all the headgear, and just attached the mask directly to the chinstrap.

See pix here: http://s124.photobucket.com/albums/p36/ ... aise/CPAP/

You can do something similar with just about ANY mask, and the new PAP CAP:

and

I have yet to hear anyone complain about strap mark from the Pap Cap.

I get minimal strap mark from my Deluxe Chinstrap. I can still see a little bit after my shower, but by the time I get to work it's gone.

Good luck!

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)
