M-Series with A-flex software question

Post by tdm5032c » Wed Dec 10, 2008 8:01 pm

I'm another newbie here . I just got my M Series Auto CPAP machine with A-flex a couple of weeks ago and have slept better than I have in years. It seems to be working pretty good, but I would like to be able to view the data on the data card. I have to deal with Apria for my insurance, and both my local branch and the 800 number for them both say that the Encoreviewer software and card reader will NOT work with this new machine with A-flex. Does anyone out there have this machine and use the software with it? If so, please let me know. I would very much like to be able to view the data about my pressures during the night, how long at a time I slept with it, and how many events I've had on it.

Tracy

i have an m series auto with c-flex as long as it has a card the viewer and reader should work. if you look at the decal on the bottom of the machine it will have the actual model and serial numbers. then go to cpap.com and you can find a comparison chart that will tell you what works with what.

remember that you will probably have to pay out of pocket as insurances usually won't cover this.

the data is good but there are no instructions on how to interpret it, but, there are folks here that will help ya

encore viewer should work

for encore pro you need 1.8 for the aflex machine

I have the Auto M Series with A-Flex, and it works fine with the card reader and Encore Viewer software.

Typical ignorance on the part of the DME -- in this case, Apria.

I have that machine and Encore Viewer. Yes, Encore Viewer works fine with the Auto with A-flex.

Ditto for me. I got my software from cpap.com. Check around for the best prices and remember that cpap.com matches prices. They sponsor this forum and I preferred to purchase from them. They were great to work with.

Last week I had a problem with my humidifier seals causing a slowly progressive leak. Had I not had the software, I never would have detected it. Go for it!

Thanks for all of the info. I even contacted and have an e-mail from Respironics Encore support saying it WILL work with this model if Apria tries to still tell me different. They definitely don't seem too competent at Apria, that's for sure.

I'd say the DME are control freaks lol ... they probably feel patients taking an interest in their own therapy is a threat to their empire ...

I used Encore Pro (1.6) and Analyzer with my previous M Series APAP. I now have a new M Series with AFlex and the 1.6 doesn't work with it. I purchased Encore Viewer but the wonderful Analyzer doesn't work with Viewer. Would getting a 1.8 version of Encore Pro work with Analyzer? If so, how can 1.8 be obtained since it is no longer sold?

I don't know if your insurance will pay for EncoreViewer and the card reader. You may need to purchase it elsewhere.
