ResScan 3.5 & VPAP Auto--Why no flattening or snore data?
ResScan 3.5 & VPAP Auto--Why no flattening or snore data?
ResScan 3.5 seems capable of giving snore, flattening, and detailed flow data from some flow generators, but I can't get it to collect or show me that data on any reports or graphs when I hook up my VPAP Auto. Are there any ResMed software experts out there who can tell me whether I'm doing something wrong or if it is just a matter of the VPAP Auto not collecting and storing that information for download into ResScan 3.5 (which would be a crying shame)?
Re: ResScan 3.5 & VPAP Auto--Why no flattening or snore data?
Those parameters all require the ResLink module for data capture and display.
It is a "crying shame" since all necessary sensors are present in the machine.
The information, though, is not captured on the ResScan card or communicated by null-modem cable.
Only the ResLink is able to process the data, and record it on the ResLink smartdata card.
And only through that route is the information available to the ResScan software.
Sorry. Velbor.

Re: ResScan 3.5 & VPAP Auto--Why no flattening or snore data?
Just to add to Velbor's points, the machine interprets that data on the fly but doesn't save it internally, unless, as Velbor points out, you have a Reslink module with its 32MB SM datacard in which case it does record the data (on the Reslink card).
Also as Slinky reminded me last week, if you have a Reslink attached and forget to put the SM datacard back in it before using it for the night, the only data saved is the summary data & no detail data. Reconfirmed this on the w/e when I did just that & lost the detail for one night while using a Vpap Adapt SV with a Reslink.

RG said it best once, it went something like: Gaud you call that a report???
LOL LOL LOL
Lemme guess, you are seeing them stupid little signs of how long the apnea events were?
Does your VPAP at least give you AHI info? or does it assume you know what the pressure was to eliminate that. I wonder what would happen if you put a tee in the line and running to another machine set at the same pressure as your EPAP, got a spare 420e?
You need this to get that snore data:

last time I seen it sold by cpap.com it was like $1200 bucks. You can buy another machine and get that info for that.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...
Re: ResScan 3.5 & VPAP Auto--Why no flattening or snore data?
Thanks dsm and Velbor. I knew I could rely on one of you or both to come through with the answer! I don't think I'll sell my car to buy a Reslink. But at least I know it is not me doing something wrong. Not this time, anyway. BTW, I use the USB adapter to link my machine directly instead of using a card and card reader.
Snoredog, will you loan me your 420e for a few nights?
