New Fisher & Paykel Auto CPAP, USB memory key for data storage, and more detailed data analysis software...

Waiting for USA FDA clearance...

Hopefully they do the same with the 600 series.

Nice looking machine, we can always use another Auto on the market. Looks nice except I wonder how well the humidifier works with pressure from the machine coming in that tube, wouldn't seem like it would pick up that much moisture, but they did a good job on the HC150 so they must know what they are doing.

Manual says it gives AHI, leak info from the LCD display so that is good. The verdict is still out on how well its Auto algorithm works, wonder who's patented algorithm they licensed.

Now if they don't want $2-$3k for it, it might sale.

DeVilbiss is going in the toilet without that LCD data or available reporting software, people are not going to wait forever, people are buying machines just not theirs.

They are a little light on info, and dealers.(2 in u.s.) USB stick has to be theirs, no DC input, Reduced output at higher ALT, Nothing on cost or software cost and who can buy it, the two u.s. location web sites are useless, they just take you to the company info. At least if it doesn't become vapor product, it's competition, and that's needed. The .pdf file of the manuel tells a lot about the unit. Jim

From what I can see, the heated humidifier on this machine is essentially the same as the rest of the 200 series, and it works rather well based on personal experience with the HC234. The USB stick comes with the machine, and eliminates the need for a special cable or card reader to be able to analyze the data, perhaps a regular USB memory stick could be used if formatted correctly. Looking at some online Australian CPAP stores, this machine is around double the end user price of the HC608.

Not sure about the new software, can't seem to find it available anywhere. Their previous software, which hardly did anything but compliance data, sold for around $40 plus another $30 for the serial cable at one online store I browsed through. Since you can control the machine's settings through the software/USB stick, I imagine they'll keep tight control on who gets it, but who knows? I guess we'll find out once the machine is approved for sale in the USA.

Tee hee!!! This oughtta make my DME supplier's RT happy. Or maybe not. He said he liked the Fisher & Paykel's 'cause they were so easy and didn't have all these options!!!!

I'm just gonna HAVE to print out all the info and send it to him. Thanks, ArthurS. You've made my day!!

From the picture in that link, the memory stick looks a lot like the one I have for my Sandman Auto. It actually looks like a key cutout from a Smartcard with the contacts at the tip of the "key". With the Sandman, after downloading the data onto the "key", it gets inserted into a special slot on what looks like a modified USB flash drive and that goes in a computer USB port. It sounds a little awkward but the Sandman's setup works well.
