Question About UltraMirageFF

Post by DoriC » Mon Nov 03, 2008 10:40 pm

How do you attach the hose to the mask, just push it onto the swivel or leave the swivel attached to the hose and clip it onto the elbow? It's happened a few times that when I clip it on even though it clicks and feels secure, the mask leaks like crazy until I realize that plastic ring that goes around the elbow is not seated properly and I have to adjust it. I guess it might be better to just push the hose on, but is there an easier way? I hope I explained the problem properly.

I do all my masks at the hose. But yea that clip has to lock in place too.

What makes the hose go onto the 'pipe' more easily is to wet the inside of it (just with your finger) quickly.

I leave my hose attached to the end that clips on the mask......except for the few times a year when I disconnect it to wash the mask.
When re-attaching it, I always check and recheck that the clips are firmly seated and it won't come apart.

Hmm, wet the little finger! That's the "easy" I was asking about. Thanks all.

Well since the hose and attachment snap on to the mask. I actualluy use superglue to keep the hose on. It doesn't effect anything that snaps but keep the hose from falling off. Other than tha it takes a lot of adjustment, but that is my favorite mask and have about 13,000 hour on it. you attach the hose to the mask, just push it onto the swivel or leave the swivel attached to the hose and clip it onto the elbow? It's happened a few times that when I clip it on even though it clicks and feels secure, the mask leaks like crazy until I realize that plastic ring that goes around the elbow is not seated properly and I have to adjust it. i found that even though it seems to click into place, the little round plastic ring may have rotated around.. it needs to be in the right place for it to click securely into place.

personally i leave the little plastic piece connected to the hose, and use the click mechanism to attach and remove the mask (elbow).

Yes, I didn't realize that the plastic ring has to be rotated into the right position. Hearing the click doesn't mean it's properly connected. Thanks for that tip.
