Encore and Vista

Post by rozenbob » Thu Oct 16, 2008 7:01 pm

I have been using Encore 1.6 and now have a new laptop.
Unfortunately it runs on Vista 64 bit.
Is there ANY way to set up the Encore software with Vista 64 bit o/s?

Vista 64-bit will run 32-bit applications. Vista 32-bit will not run 64-bit applications.

As for needing a newer version of the software, call Respironics. The EncorePro 1.8 has these numbers 1-800-345-6443 or 724-387-4000.

I know of no-one getting Encore Pro to run on Vista 64 bit machine, due to not having a 64 bit driver for Encore Pro, the same probably applies for the cut down product Encoreviewer. Bill is Great, and new is best, NOT! Jim

Agree with Jim. Stick with old machine. Problem solved.

I thought Skinner posted on this.

Encore Viewer does not run on Vista 64-bit.

I'm even a big fan of Vista 64-bit, except for this issue.

Will Encore 1.6 run on Vista 32 bit?
If so, could I dual boot both the 64 and 32 bit o/s

My answer would be "No". That's one of the reasons why they came out with version 1.8. (along with being able to interpret the data from the A-Flex technology).

Den
(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

I agree NO!, but if you can get Vista to dual boot, 1.8i will work also the cut up Encoreviewer will to. I don't know if Vista can be made dual boot with XP 32 bit, if so thats a better option, the best of both worlds. A lot depends on the hardware. That's one of the reasons IT, doesn't want to touch Vista, they don't want to Crap in their nest. Jim

Don't count on the next version of Windows to solve the problems, they want 64 bit to rule, and make 32 bit end, any new version will be built to Vista specs. Like XPAP, another indrusty that doesn't pay attention to the end users.
